Digi
I need system which automatically captures still frames in defined intervals. Is this possible DVBViewer? Is there plug-in that that can do the job? If no suitable plug-in exist, is it technically possible to program one? Quote Link to comment
Griga
in defined intervals Which intervals? 25 frames per second? Just record the stuff! Is there plug-in that that can do the job? No. is it technically possible to program one? Yes. It's quite easy. There is a command line parameter (-x115) that lets DVBViewer GE perform a screenshot and save the image as BMP. It also works while DVBViewer GE is running, since the second instance passes the command to the first one and then terminates immediately. So all you need is a batch file or script that re-launches DVBViewer GE in the defined interval with the -x115 command line parameter. The interval must be greater than 1 second, however, since the filename contains the time. With less than 1 second DVBViewer GE will overwrite the previous file. A more sophisticated solution would be a small EXE sending screenshot command messages (DVBViewer provides such a remote interface) - saves the relaunch overhead. I'm quite sure that it is possible in the same or a similar way with DVBViewer Pro. The Pro version additionally provides a COM interface for VBScript programming - ask the freaks who meet in the Scripting Lounge Section of this board, wether it can be done this way or not.
