Recording without A/V-rendering

Seemingly Griga has discovered a possibility to do recordings with deactivated A/V-rendering. He asked me to translate it into english:

Since DVBViewer 1.99 R5 you can create an own graph with GraphEdit to be used in combination with the SkyStar 4.2 render-core (source-filter); it must be titled "SkyStar.GRF". Now I've created a graph containing only the source-filter and null-renderers. These renderers only acknowledge the reception of data to the source-filter, otherwise the graph would stop immediately.

  • At first you'll need to create a SkyStar.GRF (see the picture below) and place it in the DVBViewer directory.

  • It will only work with the SkyStar 4.2 source-filter, as long as it's in the directory. That means, you can't watch TV with the Skystar source-filter any longer! It's just for recording.

  • It is not influenced by channel-switching or rebuilding the graph - the SkyStar.GRF will always be used.

  • Marfi's source-filter is not compromised, you can use it for watching TV or recordings (with A/V-rendering enabled of course).

This is only a temporary solution, but it is a beginning. In the second posting below you will also find a SkyStar.GRF.

Bye, Oliver
