The Videorecorder Plugin – as add-on for DVBViewer Pro/GE – offers additional recording features They allow you to do more, but on the other hand there are more possibilities to do something wrong, particularly when it comes to tricky things like scheduled recordings of different channels in a single TS file.
Though a lot of efforts have been made to translate even very special DVB options into a comprehensible user interface, the Videorecorder Plugin does not claim to prevent each and every possible mistake.
Thus, for using the software with satisfying results, you should have a basic knowledge about DVB, the different types of MPEG streams, and the functioning of the Videorecorder Plugin. It can be achieved by carefully reading this manual.
Thanks to
Crypto, Derrick, Klausing, Lars, Oliver, Hartwig and Admi-ral for testing and good proposals.
Marfi, who found a solution for a nasty problem with the SkyStar2 hardware - without it TS recording with this card would have been very restricted.
Installation and Requirements | Terms of Use | Videorecorder Plugin Features
The Videorecorder Plugin requires DVBViewer Pro or DVBViewer GE. Store the file VideoRec.dll in the DVBViewer\Plugins folder. After having launched the DVBViewer, you can open the Videorecorder Plugin Window by clicking the according Plugins Menu entry..
Storing the help file VideoRec.chm in the same folder enables opening it by pressing F1, when the Videorecorder Plugin window is active.
Please post bug reports or feature requests in the DVBViewer forum: http://www.dvbviewer.info/forum. In case of trouble attach the file VRPlugin.ini to your posting - it will be helpful to pinpoint the problem.

Formerly a „sandbox“ for testing new DVBViewer recording techniques, the Videorecorder Plugin has evolved into an important DVBViewer add-on. Several parts of its recorder engine and data stream handling are already integrated in DVBViewer Pro and DVBViewer GE. Here are the features:
Recording video/audio as transport stream (TS format).
Recording two or more channels at the same time in a single TS-file, if the channels are broadcasted on the same transponder (with the same frequency in one data stream).
Recording video as TS with two or more audio tracks, e.g. different languages, or MP2 and Dolby Digital (AC3) audio.
Recording the whole data stream of a transponder.
Listing all PIDs (Packet Identifiers) that are used on a transponder, detection of the corresponding stream types and recording a user-defined selection. Enables access to „hidden“ streams that no scanner will find.
Recording video as PVA
The Channel Tab
provides a list of all channels that are broadcasted on the same
transponder (in the same data stream) as the channel that is
currently played in the DVBViewer, thus allowing simultaneous
recording / playback.
A Timeshift Button that launches the TSPlayer and lets him play back the current recording.
Several options that may be helpful to solve special problems
Supports scheduled recordings (programmed in the DVBViewer and delegated to the Plugin)
A timer that allows to start/stop recordings at a certain time, to shut the PC down automatically or to change the end time and finishing action for ongoing scheduled recordings. Additionally it may serve as a sleep timer for the DVBViewer.
